Need help translating Italian Baptismal Certificate from Latin to English

Question

I'm having a hard time translating parts of this Baptismal Certificate.It's the date that's throwing me, and the handwritten bit near the end. I can make out the names, Andrea Scafide and Rosaria Fichera but that's about all. I believe the certificate is for Agostino Scafidi, but I'm not sure. Can anyone please help?

If I am, not wrong, the church is San Giovanni Battista. Year 1809, December 26. Mother Rosaria Fichero Father Andrea **unidentified** Baby name Agustina   Child born yesterday. Godmothers Antonina and Giovanna Aggata.    

^The text is not sufficiently clear in some places, I am not a latin expert so maybe I have errors. I recommend to look for indexes to see if names are clearer

You're welcome, Jodi.  What made me doubt a lot is the year, because it was archived within other period years.  Does the year check with the age of Agostino? Also I wouldn't have thought Rosaria surname was Italian, but of Portuguese origin.

The year does check with Agostino's age, both on his Baptismal Certificate and his marriage record. As for, Rosaria: it's possible that the first letter of her name isn't an "R".  The other letters, on other documents are pretty clear, though. I looked it up and, while "Rosaria" does have Spanish origins, it is also used in Italy, especially Sicily. I'll do some more research before I add her, just to be sure. I appreciate your pointing that out.

Hi, Jodi. Yes, I'm pretty sure it's an "R" .  You're right. In Cataluña fig trees are called figueras

Interesting, Mario! I just did a little reading about fig trees, and found out that Rosaria's last name, Fichera, does mean fig tree plantation in Italian! How cool!
