Help in Liverpool, Lancashire, England c 1826

I need HELP from an expert in England with access to records. I am looking for an unusual name  in Liverpool, England. CHWERTON. In particular I am trying to find out if this baptism is actually of my family. If you can help, My Richard McDonald page has info, what little I have, on his parents.

In a nutshell, this is the challenge;

I found this baptism record and have not been able to look at the LDS film yet. I looked through the St Nicholas registers online, no mother's surname, no marriage, no godparents. nothing:

Baptism: 22 Oct 1826 St Nicholas, Liverpool, Lancashire, England Richard McDonald - Son of John McDonald & Susannah Abode: Edmund Street Occupation: Rigger Register: Baptisms 1826, Page 10, Entry 703 Source: LDS Film 1068891

If it wasn't for the possibility that my Susan CHWERTON was born in England, and that her name appears English, I would not give that baptism a second look. Could be Chiverton, Churton, Cheverton?

Thanks for any assistance,

Hello Cindi,

There is a potential marriage at Portsea, Hampshire, in 1812 for John McDonald to Susanna Chiverton. Have a look at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6NX6-7596
The image of the marriage register is on FMP. Looks like they had a couple of children there too. John in 1815 and Mary Ann in 1817. John was a seaman/mariner respectively. Again, baptism images are on FMP.

Thank you Roy; FMP? Where did you find the children's names? The image on Family Search does not come up. Sorry to be so dense.
Thanks, got it! Find My Past. I love the names in this marriage record but think it is too early. So appreciated!
If the parents were in their twenties when they married this is not too early and it would be reasonable for a seaman to have moved the family some distance. The occupation of Rigger fits and they did move around the country.
True! However, the son Richard was b 1826 Scotland, a dau Mary b 1832 Scotland and a son John b 1836 NJ. The other couple had children named John and Mary b 10-17 years prior. Sure it is possible but not likely. My best guess is John Sr was b c 1799 Scotland and Susan/Susanna b c 1800 England.
I think the John McDonald/Susanna Chiverton couple are on the 1841 census living at Gosling Court in Liverpool:

Richard McDonald/55/mariner/not born in county

Susanna McDonald/50/not born in county

Susanna McDonald/20/not born in county

Richard McDonald/14/not born in county

Also in the household is a William Young, mariner and a ?Neutton? family.

As you have Richard McDonald born 28th June 1826 in Edinburgh I did have a search on the Scotlandspeople website but I couldn't find any baptisms for either a Richard McDonald (1820-1830) or a Mary McDonald (1830-1840) with parents John and Susanna.
So appreciate it! It is John and Susanna who are the parents, Richard is the son. When I looked for baptisms, it didn't seem to cover the year 1826. Your post does answer the question since my McDonalds immigrated in 1836, we KNOW that The Liverpool couple is not mine. THANK YOU!

Thanks for the idea, but the baptisms on that site do not start early enough. But so appreciated!
