Need help sourcing a McDonald in Newfoundland, Canada 1800s

My paternal cousins and aunts/uncles swear that my paternal great-grandmother Annie Hunt's surname was McDonald. But I can't seem to find any sort of origin records on her, nor anything other than a few family trees on Ancestry, and a death record. My research notes in her profile are extensive and I could use another set of eyes and analytical research skills to help me parse this out.

Hi, have you tried mannioncollection.ca? Professor Mannion's Birth, Marriage, etc. card collection by surname for Newfoundland. There are 106 pages for McDonald and 31 for Hunt.
*edit* Unfortunately that resource only goes to 1850. Not useful in this case but I'll bookmark for when I start researching another generation or two back in the Hunt/Brake line. Thank you. */edit

Oh no I haven't! Thanks so much for this pointer, Frank.

Her marriage record show her last name as McDonald

Yes I know it lists it as McDonald. That's the only evidence I have. I'm looking for a birth certificate, baptismal certificate, immigration record, or something else that lists her info. I need her parents' names. We all know that early records can be imprecise and in the early days of Newfoundland and Canada, you just had to declare a name. Also, the listing for her on FamilySearch was created by me and isn't accurate either. And it is highly unlikely that she was born in Ontario during that time period, because it would have been very difficult to move between Ontario and NL at that time. It is more likely that she was born in the Maritimes or in Europe. Please see my research notes. I appreciate your collaboration

Hi Tamarra;

Based on the marriage record for Ann Macdonald & John Hunt, she was born in 1870. The only Ann Macdonald I can find was born to Alexander Macdonald & Catherine MacIsaac in Codroy Valley, NL. This is not the original but the record for her & two of her siblings is here in alphabetical under MacDonald: http://ngb.chebucto.org/Parish/stanne-bap2-cr.shtml

The rest of Alexander & Catherine's children were born in the Bay of Islands, records beginning with their son Alexander, located here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9398-KD9R-Y9?i=2&wc=M6PJ-QTT%3A133939101%C144939102%2C144939103&cc=1793777

Hope this helps. email if the links don't work.
