I am seeking my birth fathers German ancestry.  I am an adoptee who through my own research have discovered his family who come from Germany and immigrated to Canada then to Maryland in the USA. My  father was Joseph Schneider born in Germany in 1911 and immagrated to Canada in 1916.   I am stumped on the Schneiders German roots and would appreciate any assistance.

Hi Susan Welcome to WikiTree.

I suggest you go back to your post and edit to add tags (as you did Schneider) for Germany, Canada, and adoption. That will get the attention of people researching your areas of interest.

Good luck on your hunt.

Welcome to the treefolk, Susan!

Could you give a link to your father's profile? Schneider is one of the most common names in Germany, so every little hint about a place or a ship or the names of his parents or the people he travelled with (as a five-year-old, he certainly didn't emigrate alone) would be helpful in finding an approach to searching in Germany.

Kind regards and lots of fun, help and wonder in the Tree!
