Where does a Discussion section go?

What is the current recommendation for where a Discussion section goes on a profile?  I couldn't find it on any of the help pages for formatting, biographies, profiles.

Is it === Discussion ===

Does it go at the top, in the research notes (and then might not be necessary), before Research Notes??  Or not used at all . . .

I'm interested also. But I may have made the answer moot for this one, because as you were asking I was incorporating the "discussion" into the PPP Notice-- as it was about that, and not really a discussion at all.

If you have in mind discussion of uncertainties, or of conflicts between sources, Research Notes is usually a good place, with no need for a "Discussion Notes" subheading. That is what many of us do.

There doesn't seem to be disagreement, for which we could use the === Disputed Origins === subheading.  But I am coming to agree that it can just go in the research notes as a point to be made.  Thanks.

See Help:Biographies. The "discussion" goes under the Level 2 heading Research Notes. There is a section almost at the bottom of the page with the subheading "Proper order", which shows all the major elements in order.

That listing is for === Disputed Origins === which is not the same as Discussion.  The origins in some cases aren't disputed.  It was moved into the first line of our PPP statement but that's not really where it goes either.  Maybe these types of things just belong in the research notes without any subheading.

I tried to answer in general where a "discussion" might go. Yes, in some cases you may want to include a Level 3 "Disputed Origins" subheading, but I don't think that there is much point in it unless you have a massive amount of text that you also want to place in the Research Notes.

I have done a similar thing in the profile of my ancestor Christen Aafoss, who is haunted by an old Mormon myth concerning his alleged father.

Thank you.  Might have a few of these profiles to clean up. . .
