Does sourcing, integrating, black history, appalachia, etc have to come to a dead stop for a full weekend!?

A number of us are posting irritation given that we chose to NOT participate in the GAME and now cannot document sources, integrators, appalachia, black history because the ONLY thing that comes up is one line for whatever GAME is being held this weekend! This is the LAST weekend of the month and many of us also want to add to our numbers as for some, they work during the week.

With all of the IT wonks, why cannot those of us who chose NOT to participated in this Game still access those other activities?! Did anyone think of those of use who are not interested in participating in the GAME (whaever game it is) and arrange for those of us to document the profiles we create? This is so not good!

This is what that site looks like now:

Not sure I'm understanding, Carol.  I went to that profile, clicked edit and was able to make a change to the profile narrative and save without any Game/Challenge-related messages popping up.

Ah, you must be using a challenge tracker. This other question includes a response that other *challenges* are on hold during the current Games.  So one can edit just fine, but if you're using a challenge tracker this weekend, it's disabled during the Games.

That's my gripe, Jillaine! It's not that I cannot edit. It's the last weekend of the month (the last opportunity to add to challenges). Many people work during the week (or have tasks) and the weekends are the only opportunity to integrate, source, etc. Given the number of IT people, why can't the respective sourcer/integrator, etc. activities continue for those of us NOT signed up for the 'Games.'

BTW...I also noticed that the family relationships are not showing up on the profiles I have done today. For example:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Baldwin-17639 (I did Henry yesterday and you can see the family relationships at the top...they showed up as soon as I added the information to the Challenge Tracker yesterday)

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Baldwin-17646 I did Joshua Baldwin about 2 hours ago...nothing at the top. Joshua and Henry are brothers so there should be the relationship as with all the other siblings!
My understanding is that the relationship calculator is updated every 24 hours?

Hurray.  The traditional list of challenge choices is back in business.  8:30 Saturday morning, New York time.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to address this concern by 8:30 this morning. That is what Wikitree is all about.
The other Challenges were suspended only during the Sourcing part of the games, because that part has to use the Challenge Tracker.  I am pretty sure they are also suspended during the Source a Thon, which will be coming up at the 'end of September', so get your sources added earlier, if you want to be counted for Sep totals!!

For Connect a Thon, which is Saturday, they don't use the Challenge Tracker, so the Challenge Tracker being back had nothing to do with anything other than they were done with the Sourcing part of their Game.  I am with all of you that there are way too many games on wikitree lately.  Starting with this 'game weekend', there will be three months of a 'game' format!

Dear Jillaine,

When I looked earlier today, no other Challenger trackers were available besides the WikiGames one.  I believe several of us challenge ourselves to create a certain number of profiles for our chosen project each month.  Leaving the other trackers off the list during the WikiGames sets us back.

Is that what you were saying, Carol?  -NGP

Well, you can see what I wrote to Jillaine. The relationship for the Baldwin profile I did today is not listing his family relationship as with the other siblings...likely because I cannot add information in the challenge tracker.

I agree. The other challenges should not have been blocked.

I agree, Luther. There is another similar post and a number of people are not happy about this disruption to the Saturday Sourcing Sprint, etc.

Well, that certainly sucks. I was going to work on a challenge this weekend and now I can’t if I want it to count.

Suspending the other challenge trackers was not the brightest idea.

Carol: Thank you for voicing this concern. I had the same experience that my changes were not added to the monthly connector challenge with the same message: "For this challenges profile doesn't officially qualify". I hope that this is addressed for the next event.

It is amazing how quickly things get addressed! Thank you!
