Hi Wikitreers and fellow Civil War Project and New York members,
We have finally finished adding all the veterans of the Glorious 106th New York Regiment Company I!
Any collaboration in improving upon our U.S. Civil War Veterans of Company I is appreciated as many still need connecting.
If there is a veteran that was missed or not added but sourced please post message on page.
Thank you
Note: This is a bit after the fact as All the men of Company I have been added as of August 13, 2023 (originally started on 26 Aug 2021 ); However it’s been a slow work in progress over the past few years.
I’m currently adding all the Veterans of the last and final Company K
I think you will find the 106th N.Y. fought in some of the toughest, bloodiest battles of the U.S. Civil War with utmost bravery!
…“The following is quoted from Col. Fox's account of the regiment: "Companies D and F were captured, April 29, 1863, at Fairmount, W. Va., where they defended a railroad bridge for several hours against a large force of Confederates.”…
Addendum: I’m always looking for ways to improve upon my completed free space pages so any good ideas please share. I just recently made some improvements by adding the Captains of each Company to the beginning bio header section. I think most will find helpful as a highlight of their respective Companies and commands. It’s tragic how many Captains died in battle or of disease
One Final Thought: Wikitree is the Funnest place for Genealogy it’s really amazing!
Let’s get these veterans connected
