Hello,
if WikiTree wants to be international it must move away from Familysearch location database and naming conventions.
Familysearch tries to simplify locations to a USA standard and tries does not recognise each European countries have different standards, languages and with borders than have frequently moved! Poor Irish nationalists will be very upset as they are still apart of the UK! The Brits are upset because FamilySearch standard insists commonly and accepted shorten addresses are wrong and will insist UK is a part of the address centuries before UK was even thought off!!!! Worse still it forces most users to put UK in the wrong time periods !
With regards names insisting in usÃng Snr, Jnr the IV etc widely used int e USA but not outside of North America .
Please remember, locations standards and names standards must match the contemporary used standards at any particular period in order to match up documents, the main Familysearch reason to exist !!!!!
