I saw a bit of good news on Facebook, and it looks to be true. The news is that the Henry Z Jones books on Palatine migrants are now on Ancestry!

The books will certainly be behind the paywall, and Ancestry may find a way to prevent us from seeing records related to parts of a person's life that were spent outside the geographic areas covered by our subscriptions, but I think this is great news!

This will be a great resource for many people chasing their Palatine roots; shame about the paywall.  On the other hand, the two volumes of Jones 1988 book are currently selling for almost $500 in Amazon. By that criterion, an Ancestry subscription is a great deal.

Philip L. Otterness, the author of the book "Becoming German" about the Palatine migration, used the Jones books to create a database of every Palatine in the Jones books--along with big-data maps that located point of emigration for about half of the 1710 NY group of Palatines. I wonder if Otterness would be willing to share his database with Wikitree.
