Really torn about LNAB for this woman - thoughts? [closed]

It seems obvious that she was born Elma Rose Auguste Schroeder, but the accessible birth registration index shows her as Elma Rose Sterling.This reflects her formal, legal change of name during WW1.

Since the birth register index (now) shows it as Sterling, that's what I've gone with, even though her father's name on the index is still listed as Schroeder.

Thoughts?

South Australian Birth records; Elma Rose Auguste SCHROEDER b 17th June 1893. Father; Ernst Eduard SCHROEDER.  Mother; Rose PLAYER.  Born at Gilberton, Bk 524  Page 52.   So LNAB  SCHROEDER and other last name STERLING reflecting the change later I would presume

The LNAB field is literal - Last Name at Birth.

LNAB = Schroeder
Current Name = Good
Other Last Name = Sterling

I can't see all the info here - but this should help:

OK, thanks Steven. I hadn't checked to see if it was also listed as Schroeder as well as Sterling. Looks like a second entry may have been created when she officially changed her name (with same birth registration number).
