Profile Photo on Wrong Profile

I recently attempted to add a photo to Thomas Nolan, but I accidentally assigned it to Thomas O'Riordan, so I moved the photo to Thomas N., but the photo still displayed in Thomas O's profile yet it wouldn't for Thomas N. Any way to solve this issue?

Go to profile Nolan-2913 and near the top click on the tab called IMAGES. When I went there it didn't show ME anything to edit. But as the uploader, YOU might be able to see more.

Also you might have to wait a day until the next system update, before the photo actually gets deleted from the wikitree system.

The image is now attached to the other profile (Nolan), but is not showing as such.  It would not allow me to set it as primary.  It is no longer attached to the profile where it is showing as the primary image (Thomas O'Riordan), but is not in the side bar (unheard of for primary images even when they are attached to other profiles or free space pages).

I'm wondering if this isn't part of the bug regarding images reported a day or so ago.

When I go to each profile, I see a copy of the photo on both profiles.

The one on Riordan should be deleted by tomorrow morning.

The one on Nolan is in the bottom right. To show it at the top you just have to set it as primary photo.

The message that appears when I tried to assist said I am not on the trusted list. to edit If you click on the image, you should see a check box that lets you set it as the primary photo

The issue for Thomas N. is resolved. I'm not in the trusted list for the profile, but yet it still displays on Thomas O's profile.

Luke, it took me a few attempts to fix figure this out.  Something changed with how WikiTree handles photos. Unclicking the "Set as Primary Photo" box in Images does not remove the photo as primary.  BUT ... in the right column in EDIT mode there is an option to "remove as primary".

I did it on O'Riodan-128, see the changes log.

As Julie says below, after you check or uncheck the box, you then have to click on the "SET PRIMARY" button to save the change. It seems counter-intuitive when you are unchecking it, and has "gotten" me before :)

Joe, I didn't explain this very well - so here goes again.  In a situation where clicking the "SET PRIMARY" does no achieve the desired results, go back to the "EDIT" page. Scroll down the right column, below the 'children' tab is a section "Edit Photo Settings" with a box to uncheck to remove a primary photo.  Open this profile: [[Harnish-48|Jonas Harnish (1941-2005)]], in EDIT mode, right column, scroll down to "Edit Photo Settings".  Click the box to remove as primary.

In "Images" I unclicked the box and clicked "Set Primary" about a dozen times.  BUT, I go to "Edit" and I can make the primary go away.

Do you get the same results?

Hi, Luke!

I was able to get the picture set as Thomas Nolan's primary photo (see: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Nolan-2913)

I went to the image detail page (https://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/O_8217_Riordan-128), scrolled down and clicked the "Set as Primary Photo" checkbox and clicked "set primary"

If that's not what you wanted, you can uncheck that box and click the "set primary" button again to remove it.

I hope that helps!
