This profile at geni.com [https://www.geni.com/people/Kapellan-Erik-W%C3%A6rdal/6000000001679835943] has some source information for Erik Olsen Wærdal for which I am looking for a link to the original source at digitalarkivet. Tried searching there but was unable to find it.

Erik Olsen Wærdahl var også kirkekapellan av yrke. At han er sønn av Oluf Olofsen Schancke er kun en teori og lite dokumentert i kildene.

Skifte, Bjøntegaard fol. 90a:
" Skifte 18. febr. 1733 efter Erik Werdal res. Cap. til Rendalen, + 4. jan. 1733.
Hans efterleverske var ‘‘Dyd Edle Madame Anne Catharine Sommerschield" og deres
barn var:

1. Hr. Ole Erichsen Werdall, cap. Pro persona til Wosse i Bergen stift, 39 år gl.
2. Henrich Erichsøn Werdal, vagtmester ved hr. capitain Schultzes Compagnie af Velbaarne Hr. General Major Øtkens Regimente 29 år gl.
3. Christopher Erichsøn Werdal 28 år gl.
4. Johannes - ’’ - - ’’ - 14 ’’ ’’
5. Christian - ’’ - - ’’ - 10 ’’ ’’ Han er ganske blind (f. 91b.)
6. Karen Erichsdtr. - ’’ - 24 ’’ ’’
7. Anne Marie - ’’ - - ’’ - 20 ’’ ’’
8. Ingeborre - ’’ - - ’’ - 18 ’’ ’’
Boet var eiende gaarden Bjøntegaard med skog og 2 sætrer m.v. som blev taksert
for 300 rd."

Mange tusen takk.

You have to know the name of the parish. This is "Øvre Rendal". As you know the year and the page number, you can go straight to the protocol for the years 1726-1735 and open page 90.

And here it is:

Solør og Østerdalen sorenskriveri, SAH/TING-024/J/Ja/L0004: Skifteprotokoll, 1726-1735, p. 89b-90a

The probate that I have found is for an Ole Erichsen, but everything else is wrong. I suspect that here has been some kind of conflation here.

As Erich Olsen Wærdal was a "kapellan" (chaplain), his probate would normally be found in a clerical protocol. The relevant protocol is found on the top of this page, "Geistlige skifter, Hedemarken og Østerdalen prosti 1696-1779", but i can't find this probate anywhere near page 90. There is no register in this protocol.

I have submitted a question on the Digitalarkivet user forum right now. Usually, an answer will come quite soon.

Thanks, Leif. I think Ole is Erik's son, also a kapellan, and listed as #1 up above. I'll check out the other question as well. Appreciate the help. Erik Olsen Wærdal was the second husband of my ancestor Maren Jensd. Aamot. Her first husband, Simon Pofvelsen was kapellan before Erik, and interestingly was part of the Rendal witch trials in the 1660s.
Mark, I'm still waiting for a definite answer, but it's midsummer eve here in Norway and genealogy is pretty low on the list. Give us a few days.
No worries. Thanks for your help.
