Birth PLace of Ellen Burke (my grandmother)

Question

My grandmother Ellen Burke married William Thomas Andrews and had 3 sons : Francis (born 1/7/1920), William and John. She was born in Ireland but I don't know when and where. Can anyone please help me as I wish to visit her home land.

Did the father William Thomas Andrews go by Thomas much of the time? Did the parents and or sons relocate to somewhere other than Ireland, such as UK, USA or Canada? This and other additional specific information could benefit the search for your grandmother's birth location.

Does your grandmother have other living relatives (brothers, sisters, children) that you could ask for more information.

If you have her death date and place, get a death certificate, if may list her birth date, although it will probably just say b. Ireland.

If she emigrated from Ireland to somewhere else, she may be on a ships manifest. Did she become a naturalized citizen, applications have a wealth of information. If she emigrated with her husband or parents, their applications may have information about her.

Sounds like could be Nellie Bourke: Born in Kilkee one of ten. Father died and children sent to nunnery and brought up by nuns as mother couldn't cope alone. Sent to Cardiff to work with Irish family who had post office near William's home. He was a Protestant and converted to Catholisism to marry her. He worked in Dowlais steelworks thus did not go to war. Children went to St. Albans catholic school. Nellie supplemented income cleaning offices.
