Hi Wikitreers,

I have this vintage post card in my collection and would like to know who it originally belonged to and the person it was sent. I believe the address it was mailed to was 1777 Church Street, Washington D.C. to a Mr. L.M. Levering but need extra collaboration to identify the proper spelling. Who was Mrs. Kingsley?

Is this the correct profile to attach this wonderful vintage post card? Another possibility is here https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/245156495/leonard-matthews-levering

Thank you

Note: needs collaboration in deciphering the writing on the postcard

The post card reads:

Enjoying my visit with all the folks.  Weather not too hot and cool nights.  My sister garden just filling with nice vegetables.

Regards

Mrs. Kingsley

Thank you this vintage post card is almost 70 years old but I believe it was sent from a Mrs. Kingsley who lived in East Hampton, Ct. to a L.M. Levering in D.C. there is a word above the Washington D.C. might be “North”?

This post card has had many travels it appears, but has come full circle as I do have roots to East Hampton my grandparents and great grandparents grew up there. I’ve swam in the beautiful Salmon River, fished it’s banks and been on this covered bridge many times. Lots of good memories there.

It was even more special the further back in time you go

Edited: typos
Above Washington is “NW” which refers to the northwest quadrant of the District.

Thank you I can see it now after you caught that! Abbreviated! yes

I used to go DC fairly often on business; I remember the quadrants.
It seems it’s an apt now, but in 1958 it probably was owned by Mr. Levering?

There are some pictures (with an unknown date) from inside the building. It looks as if it may be used as an office or work space. https://www.zillow.com/homes/1777-Church-St-NW-Washington,-DC-20036_rb/2128460462_zpid/?
