Hi Wikitreers,

Let’s see if we can connect the genealogy behind the vintage antique post card in my collection.

I have in my antique vintage post card collection a post card dated August 2, 1905. Addressed to a Miss Jeanette Ela at So. Manchester, Conn.

We need collaboration in connecting and transcribing this post card writing

1.) Who was Jeanette Ela? Is LNAB spelling Ela?

2.) Is there a 1900/1910 census for Jeanette?

3.) Who was the sender Howard?

Note: Howard sent this 115 plus year old card to Miss Jeanette Ela So. Manchester Connecticut August 2 1905 R.P.P. Will & New Haven 1011 R.P.O. cancellation stamp intact. School house Bay, Lake Pocotopaug and village on front of this multi-view card.

Any collaboration is appreciated

Thank you

Hi Roger,

I do you believe you cracked the mystery on the first round! I believe it’s our person in the card. She was born 24 March 1887 – 25 December 1968 and appears She married Charles Denison Talcott on 14 June 1906, in United States.

Interesting Howard maybe a suitor writing her and using maiden name? Or the marriage date is not exact…interesting

Note: the name is too unique not to be her

It probably works.  The date of the card was August, 1905, and she married in June, 1906.

Might be just me but I get the sense he didn’t hear from her and she married and didn’t know…but just theorizing but a year after card sent in 1905 she married in 1906. So just speculating.

Edit: Talcott is a noteworthy name in the area especially Talcottville history

Connecting her Chapman lineage very interesting her grandfather was civil war veteran Maro Spaulding Chapman (1839 - 1907) then her husbands lineage very historic the Talcott family lines. Wonderful to see the connections now laugh
