Greetings all, i am trying to find some kind of death notice or obit for either George Allen Garrett, 1878-1928 buried in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Christmasville, TN, or George A Garrett 1863- abt.1930, burial unknown, who i think might be the same person.  both show as having died in Dyer County, TN.  he would be my Grand Uncle, and the missing link for a new DNA match i have.  any thoughts would be appreciated.

I was aware of the headstone, but was hoping to find written source info on the actual date of death or obit.  I am not able to find any source info, census or anything on him, other that marriage certificate.  thanks for looking.

I have a hit for that person.
Name George A Garrett
Gender Male
Spouse Callie M Griffen
Child George Freeman Garrett

source: Ancestry.com. U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2015. Original data: Social Security Applications and Claims, 1936-2007.

Also there are marriage records for the same person and Callie Minnie Griffin from Michigan.

I'd be glad to help you further, it would help to have a wikitree page to collaborate on. Should I set one up for you?

that would be great, if you can walk me thru how to use it. A little history, in Ancestry.com, i have George A Garrett, 10 Mar 1863- abt 1930, my grand uncle, documented with the 1870, 1880, 1900, and 1910 censuses, his marriage to Rebecca Henry, their 4 children, her death and burial in 1914, and locations for her and the 4 childrens gravesites.  i cannot find anything documenting his death or burial site. There is also a George Allen Garrett, married to Callie Griffin, as you mention, buried together, findagrave ID 27584232.  i cannot find any documentation of his death or any census data for him, they married after the 1920 census was taken.  i am trying to prove or disprove that these 2 Georges might actually be the same person, that would provide the missing link to a new DNA match i have in ancestry.com.  any thoughts would be appreciated.
