Are Wilhelm Behrends Hahnenkamp and William B Hahnenkamp the same person?

Question

I need another pair of eyes to help me sort out a mystery. I'm working on my great-grandfather's brother, Wilhelm Behrends Hahnenkamp. I am trying to prove that he became William B Hahnenkamp after he came to America and that he married Henriette Kuethe.

I've accumulated several sources, which I've listed on my Hahnenkamp Family Mysteries free space. I think I've got the right person, but I don't want to jump to an unjustified conclusion. If anyone has time to take a look and give me your insight, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that. I've also located the church that the funerals of William and his wife were held from and asked about their records. Waiting to hear back. If I don't get anything that proves they are not the same person, I'm going to got with the assumption that they are and add William's information to Wilhelm's profile.

I think they are probably the same man. Gerhard and William B. were naturalized on the same day in Madison County and Gerhard was named on William's naturalization document. It also looks like Tobias was naturalized on that day too. I guess William B. could be a cousin, but everything seems to fit.

I agree with you. I feel pretty sure they are the same person. I just wish I had something definite.
