My Grandmother used to tell us that we were related to Robert the Bruce of Scotland. How can I go about researching this?       Thanks Sandy Shaw

Hi Sandy!

Keep adding to your family branches, especially the branch you have been told is the possible connection.

If you get stuck along the way, come back here to the forum and post links or ID numbers so other members can help you. Once you get further back, you should join the Scotland project and take the Tartan trail. It's a self-directed course that will teach you how to research and format Scottish profiles.

Good luck with your research and enjoy your journey into the past!

The project list can be found under the Find drop down menu.
Yes great advice Im a descendant 22 times down the road. Not through Robertson but through Pinkerton and Fathers maternal side. Look at my tree and see if there are names that you recognise.

Brian
I am supposedly descended from Robert the Bruce also, maybe through Robertson.
