Hi folks - by chance I tripped over some interesting details for a native warrior of Port Jackson who was convicted in Sydney in 1805 for raiding the settlement (captured & turned in by other natives who were released from custody to do so), transported to Norfolk Island as a convict on the "Buffalo" in Sep 1805. Having served his sentence it seems he worked on Norfolk Island until the Phase 1 Convict settlement was shut down.
He was taken to Port Dalrymple in Van Diemens Land with many of the Norfolk Islanders on the "Minstrel" in early 1813. At some point he "went bush" with the local natives & was convicted of murder in Dec 1824/Jan 1825 and hanged in Hobart Town.
I haven't found the date sentence was carried out yet.
A number of references to him in the sources (with a variety of exotic spellings), but no idea of his true name or even an approximate age.
Any suggestions on how best to proceed?
