Help needed sourcing the parents of Charles Nester (Myllymaki) Johnson.

Question

Charles Nester "Charley" (Myllymaki) Johnson was born 21 Jun 1865 in Isojoki, Lansi-Suomen Laani, Finland. His parents are said to be Juhon Kustaa "Jacob" Esaisapoika Myllymaki and Greta Liisa Juhontytar.

Can someone help this PM by finding sources to prove the relationship? Thanks!!

I am not sure how far back you want to go, but feel free to contact me if you want additional research done. We can likely get back several more generations if desired.

Here is a household record that covers the time period where Johan Gustaf (1833) was born. It shows him with his father Esaias Mattsson (born 1809), his mother Anna Gretha Jöransdotter (born 1810), and his younger sister Anna Stina. This record also indicates that the family listed above are Esaias Mattssons parents and siblings. His parents were Matts Jacobsson (born 1780) and Maria Carlsdotter (born 1783).

I will also note that the household record linked above indicates that the mother/wife Anna Gretha Jöransdotter (born 1810) came from the Hjetakangas farm on page 280. She can be found with here family there, prior to marrying (bottom of page).

This record shows her with her parents Jöran Jöransson (born 1768) and Ulrica Bertilsdotter (born 1768), along with 3 older siblings.

Eric, Thank you for the research. First chance I get I will update it and family. I'd like to go back a few more generation to see where they actually came from. You can add any additional information. It also seems that both sides of the family, Karl & Selina are from the same area. Maybe we can do both side together. :)

April, I went ahead and created profiles for the parents of Johan Gustaf. I added the birth, marriage, and all of the household records I could find up through the death of his father in 1865 (when the records run out on the Finnish Archives).
