Hoping for information on my Grandfather John MacDonald  from no 12 Callanish on the Isle of Lewis and his family

They emigrated to Fremantle Australia in the early 1920's

He was a crofter and businessman and in the Navy aboard HMS Renown in WW1

Thanks Don Green

Hi Don,

I’m an Aussie and travelling in Scotland at the moment.

I’ll be staying in a Airbnb next to Callanish stones for the next six days.

Let me know if you need any photos or information or other things sourced from the local area.

I’d be happy to investigate.

Cheers

My ancestors Angus MacDonald and his son Donald MacDonald (born 1824) lived in Croft 29 in Callanish until 1851 when they emigrated to Ontario, Canada.

Any relation?
