19 degrees through her husband John Warner (and very distant cousins).

Finally, a different connection through a different husband!! smiley

I was thinking that Warner would have been a more popular connection.

Aaron, if I am reading that correctly, you are one of the few that connect without going through a husband.

Liz and I are 14th cousins. I’m 9th cousins with Hubby #1, Nicky Hilton and 12C 3R with Hubby #7 (since Richard was #5 & 6), Sen. John Warner.

Favorite movie would probably be A Date With Judy because I am a big Jane Powell fan. Elizabeth was innocently seductive in it and absolutely beautiful.

I have not seen that movie. I'm going to have to look it up.

The only one of her husbands I'm related to is Nicky Hilton: 14th cousins, 1x removed.

I think the only movie of hers I ever saw was probably not representative of her best work: "Taming of the Shrew."

It's been a bit since I've seen that movie.  I am going to have to go watch it again.  Thanks for mentioning it!

Ooh, you might be the closest. Most of us are connected through a husband or three.  wink

We are 11th Cousins, once removed. I named my dog after her. Liz (the bulldog) was born a month after Elizabeth Taylor died. Liz (the bulldog) had the most beautiful eyes and since Elizabeth Taylor was known for hers, we chose to name our dog, Princess Elizabeth Rosemond (Taylor's middle name).

I love that story!

Elizabeth Taylor and I are 13C1R through Alice (Kingsmill) Bullock. Her husband Nicky Hilton and I are 15C through Alice’s mother, Jane (Gifford) Kingsmill. Her husband John Warner and I are 17C. My favorite movie? Probably National Velvet.

Great choice of movie... especially since this is a Horse type of weekend with the Kentucky Derby!

We are 12th cousins through Henry Baldwin of Buckinghamshire!

I have admired her AIDS work immensely and it is still being carried on by her grandson.

It's very difficult for me to pick just ONE film of hers. If I had to select, it would be A Place in the Sun, or Butterfield 8 or Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (wowza what a performance). Most will remember her for National Velvet.

I wish my mum was still alive. She would be so excited to know that Elizabeth Taylor is related through the Baldwins. Taylor was a favorite, but Tyrone Power was mum's all time favorite!

And as a side note:

Hilton is a 17th cousin 2xr and

Warner is a 20th cousin 1xr

That is pretty cool!

A Place in the Sun is a great one too.  I keep forgetting about her uncredited appearance in Wuthering Heights.

Hi Sandy,

Thank you for reminding me of the uncredited Wuthering Heights. There are a lot of terrific movies, though, that she is credited for. She was a beautiful and caring woman, which showed in her support of Montgomery Clift and Rock Hudson in their personal lives. She never turned her back on them as others would have (and did). I think that spurred her to her AIDS work.
