Hi, Shelly Hobson - just introducing myself! Thank you for allowing me to be on this site. I am a novice researching my maternal family tree. 4 main names of interest are Orr, Blezard, Hobson, Hill. I am based in the UK, but my tree seems to extend from Ireland to Scotland to the USA and Australia via a few far flung places.

I am slowly populating my account. Please bear with me. I look forward to working with you all!

Genealogy is an addiction, so be prepared to spend countless hours exploring the site, records, and preparing biographies. 

A few quick pointers in case you need any assistance:

• Bookmark the site FamilySearch. Once you create a free account there, you can research tons of records, like Birth, Marriage, Census, Military, and Death records.
• Consider joining a Project, such as the Scotland Project. There are many members and wonderful Leaders who can assist you in research and resources (where to look, how to interpret the records, etc.).
• If you would like to take a tour of the site and learn more about how things work (on your own schedule/pace), we have the WikiTree Academy with a few free courses you may be interested in. You can sign up for an account there, and I would suggest taking the New Member How-To course to learn a little about the different aspects of WikiTree.
