New Project Gates Surname DNA

Question

Hi I've once again started a Gates Surname DNA Project profile that I can live with saying what I want said, concisely, and having come to almost the same resulting content from two different directions in adding it, I believe I've done it right (enough) to start.  In doing so, the instructions said I should post here.

But, now that I've created this, I want to use my own experience as a model for others to add their input, and I'd like to figure out where I should be putting results, of my own, and where to update that information when others add their input.

Can anyone provide the widest of overviews of the How of which this is done?  Or other new-group pointers. I am delving into 'that whole Categories thing' after I post this.  Is there more to do?  Thanks!

Also, does Wikitree software come from that used by the Newfoundland Grand Banks genealogy website? :)

I see that Wikitree is now undertaking much that I was attempting to do, but not all, especially noting the privacy concerns, if not editorial redundancy, latent in this suggestion.  I'm looking to restructure this putative project group, in the coming weeks, to even further take advantage of the infrastructure here.  Suggestions still welcome. :)
