Welcome to WikiTree, Ursula!
Let me introduce myself: I'm Dave Draper and I am sort of a newbie WikiTree greeter in training!
WikiTree is a little different: IT's BETTER! I have been involved for about two years and have had so much help from everyone here. Navigating this site and learning all the perks, tips and tricks, takes awhile so please ask for help and advice.
Ursula, here is a poem I wrote for new members, which includes what you need to do to start your journey! I hope you enjoy it!
- We Welcome you to WikiTree
- We think it’s better than Ancestry
- We’ll help you find your family
- And all your genealogy
- But be Warned: It’s been predicted
- That soon you too will be addicted.
- It happened to others, and to me!
- Adding your family to the WikiTree!
- The next thing here to be remembered
- Is to upgrade to a FAMILY MEMBER
- And then you will be kindly told
- To click on and sign the Honor Code!
- But, don't you fret, 'cause it's all FREE
- This is really one great community
- We can help you with your ancestry!
- Thanks and welcome to WikiTree!
Here are some genealogy jokes to brighten your day:
- Genealogists are time travelers.
- A great genealogist is a time unraveler.
- Genealogy: In the end, it’s all relative.
- A genealogist is someone who knows that all grandparents are great grandparents!
- Genealogy is sometimes about proving that bad family traits came from the other side of the tree!
- Genealogy saying: "Genealogy is all about chasing your own tale."
Have a lovely day chasing your tale!
