other difficult quest. I would dearly love to know who the parents of James Albert White were. James was born in the USA probably around 1894+-2 which isn't much help. He came to Canada in 1918 where he married my great aunt Violet Lloyd in Saskatchewan. They had 5 children in quick order.  Robert John White, who I think may have died as an infant, Marion Violet White, Donald James White, Marie Lillian White, and Audrey Virginia White.  The family lived in Wapella, Saskatchewan for a time.  James died in March of 1940. I can't find an obituary which might list his parents. I can find him on the 1921 and 1926 censuses at which time it states that his Dad was born in England. It states that James was born in the USA and came to Canada in 1918. White is a pretty common name. Does anyone have any ideas how I might find out who his parents were so I could get on with finding the family roots. Just a total mystery to me.  Thank you.   John

Hello John,

I certainly understand this is a challenge but researching his wife and his children may help to eventually lead you to his death certificate which hopefully will include his parent's names on the registered document,     I'm including a link for The Saskatchewan Cemeteries Project that may help you and others on WikiTree looking for families that may have died in various cities and townships in Saskatchewan.

Wishing you well with your search John.

See if he registered for draft in WWOne before migrating to Canada. Those cards often list parents' names.  Good luck!  JSC

Good find. Here's a clipping, although the image isn't great:

Despite the evidence of the 1940 death in SK, I am strangely not finding him in the provincial index. (I think their index is incomplete to be honest - they have literally nothing for a marriage index, which is ridiculous).

Anyway, you may want to contact eHealth SK to see if you can order a death certificate. Assuming he married in SK, you could ask about a marriage record too.
