Want to create attractive, interesting, and accurate profiles? Love to help track down those mysterious unknowns? If you discover that you're just automatically improving profiles as you randomly fix the large and small problems on WikiTree profiles, consider joining the Profile Improvement Project.

PIP is dedicated to helping you make YOUR managed profiles some of the best on WikiTree. As you embark on our Voyage, you will be assisted by one of our friendly and knowledgeable Guides. You will learn how to create fun, interesting, informative, well-sourced profiles that adhere to WikiTree standards, styles, and guidelines.

I am interested in improving the profiles I manage. It looks like a lot of work. The project page suggests number 1. Get rid of gedcom crap. Is there a tutorial on doing this? I used the Gedcom to bring multiple people into my WikiTree account but I am not sure what to do with these profiles now.

I would like to join PIP and begin my Voyage.  I always have the urge to make the profiles nicer when I'm sourcing the unsourced, and I have a project to clean up my own gedcom-generated tree and get rid of those ugly Ancestry S1 things. I could use a mentor.  What I learned during the Source-A-Thon and from watching the WikiTree YouTubes and tips from Discord all has me feeling very empowered rather than overwhelmed, and ready to help once educated.

Also, I am actively improving profiles that are NOT on my watchlist, because they are managed by other people.  These are my ancestors, however, and they deserve better biographies.  Will my contributions be counted in the PIP program?

As a PIP graduate I highly recommend this project. I thought my profiles were “pretty darn good” but I learned a LOT to improve them. Don’t hesitate to sign up, even if you think you already create good profiles.
