What to do about Ancestry Hints being used as sources?

I keep coming across profiles that have only a link to Ancestry Hints as a source. With only minimal research I've found sources (christening, marriages, census records) that show the person doesn't belong to that family, or that they do but in a different generation. I've been adding comments to the profile with the information I found, would it also be appropriate to mark the profiles as "unsourced"? Or is there a better way to handle these?

If it's just the hint, maybe they don't have a subscription to access the full record.
anything you do that helps them to be a better genealogist, helps us all. Make suggestions, offer help. i learn a little something every time i sighn on

Are they responding to your suggestions or improvement favorably? I would add the unsourced template to those profiles anyway.

They may not know how to source properly
The most recent ones haven't responded yet, I'm hoping that they will check out the links to the sources and make the changes accordingly. But if not, I'll add the unsourced template. It's so much easier with orphan profiles :) I will just have to learn to be patient!

When I come across those, if I can easily find a source or two for the profile I post it. Most of the time, I use the free sources from FamilySearch. If I can't find one there, I will find one on Ancestry and use the Sourcer Extention to form a free citation. Sometimes those don't work but it is worth a try.

I use Family Search too so that if I add a comment with the sources I find, anyone should be able to look at and verify them.  Then hopefully change the profile too!
Are the profiles open? If so, I add the sources directly to the profile.
