Woods Island activities in 1917

My Uncle Alvin Huntington was born in St Alban's Vermont in 1917 and My grandmother (his mother), Bernice (Ovitt) Huntington was recorded as residing on Woods Island at the time.  This is a SMALL Island in Lake Champlain just off the coast of St Albans.  I tried to find information about the inhabitants of the Island at that time and the Historical Societies told me to "check with the Park Service" and the Park Service told me to "check with the Historical Societies".  I would like information on this place in 1917 if anyone has any.  Thank You.

Well, that's a conundrum! I also try the local library when dealing with a small town. St Alban's has one with a website. Try reaching out to their research librarian to see if they have further suggestions or if they have a local history collection housed there. Or if they know of a local historian who might be contacted.

Thank You!
