Hi Wikitreers,

We need collaboration in reading James Dowdy’s pension record. What Regiment was he enlisted? The legibility is difficult to decipher.

Thank you

Edit: it appears to read Bearden’ s Co 2 Ga Mtd Vols? Maybe Beardens County or Company? There is a Bearden’s county Arkansas? The record is listed in “United States Index to Indian Wars Pension Files, 1892-1926”

Think that it could be a reference to Captain Rowland Bearden?

There is a reference in U.S. War of 1812 Pension Index, 1812 to 1815, to Rowland Bearden, who served from November 21, 1814, to May 6, 1815, the War of 1812, and in Col. I.R. Foster's 2nd Regiment, Georgia Militia in the Seminole Indian War in 1836 and 1837.

Hi Roger,

I think you have the correct answer. I’m curious if they were engaged In the Texas Revolution in the Goliad Campaign

Thank you yes
