Donnie:

Ancestry.com (which I know you use) has a record for the marriage for Sylavanius Walker to Luvicy Vardiman on April 14, 1836, in Talladega, Alabama:

https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/621026:61365?ssrc=pt&tid=119954429&pid=250192392504

It is attributed to your Sylvanus on some profiles.  See, e.g., https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/119954429/person/250192392504/facts?_phsrc=qcN46795&_phstart=successSource

That makes sense for your Sylvanus because the Vardiman and Walker families to have intermarried and moved to Rusk County together, See, e.g,, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Walker-3835.

The father on the cited profile above is Henry Walker and the mother is Lavicy Louise Phillips.

Also, while you have to be careful, here is a link to an old genealogy.com forum post about Henry Walker, which contains information on documents about him, including references to his son Sylvanus. https://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/walker/29861/

There is book by Terry W. Drake, The History of the Walker Family and the Times They Lived (2017), which seems to discuss the entire family. https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_History_of_the_Walker_Family_and_the/PXEnDwAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=0

Unfortunately, the critical pages on the ones that you are looking for don't seem to be online.

Ooooh, you picked someone born in what I call the sweet spot. It is not a sweet spot at all. Since he was about 40 at the 1850 Census, there is every likelihood that his parents had already passed. It is awesome when they are living with their children in their old age. Some questions to ask yourself are:

When was Rusk, Texas settled?

Is there a history?

Could Sylvanus' parents have been settlers in Rusk?

If the parents went to Rusk, you could possibly guess who the father was from 1810 to 1840 census records. Hopefully there were not too many Walkers of a corresponding age. Georgia would be a big state to look for Walkers. If you could narrow down the town in Georgia where Sylvanus was found that might help.

This is daughter Mary on FS.  But I see no evidence for her father.  What do you have that links them?
