Thanks to all of you who posted.
It is NOT what I wanted but the rules are the rules.
This will make very hard to shate a large family grouping.
David, if you could explain a little further exactly what you're trying to accomplish, there may be other ways to go about it.  You really only need the trusted list access to allow site members to edit the data in private or unlisted profiles.  If it's just a matter of enabling other site members, or family members who are not site members, to look at the profiles, you can choose public or open privacy settings that allow that (except where you need to protect info about living people).  Many of us try to make most of our work public so our family members can follow along with it if they wish.  More info here:

I agree with Dennis's comments. But also, if it does turn out that many non-Open profiles are involved, the tool for bulk trusted list additions might be relevant.

I may be misinterpreting your question, but if another member added you to the trusted list of Profile X, that only provides access to X, not to the profile of the member who added you, or to any other profiles that are managed by that member.

Well put, Dennis. This is further explained on the Trusted List FAQ page, which says:

If I add you to my Trusted List can you access every profile I can access?

No. Every profile has its own Trusted List. As a WikiTree user, you have a profile and your profile has a Trusted List. People on this list can access your profile but they cannot automatically access other profiles you have created or edited. Those other profiles have their own Trusted Lists.

Thanks for the star Susan.

Yes if you wish to see the profiles of everyone in the team, then you need to request trusted list access to each member of the team.

The same thing goes for each and every profile.  Access is not done in bulk.

You also generally need to have a specific reason for requesting TL status for each profile.

I have a large line to enter and I am wanting to see those that exist and just link to them. Not only that, there are several Managers that needs to be contected.
But it appears that the best in the long run is to enter ones data and the do the merging later, and that way you have the right one that there are several to pick from.

David, I'm not sure what you're suggesting here, but just in case, it's important to note that except in two very unusual circumstances it is not permissible to create duplicates deliberately. See Is it ever acceptable to intentionally create a duplicate?
