Which John Erskine is the father of Magdalen Erskine who married Alexander Jaffray?

I would appreciate some feedback on the parentage of Magdalen Erskine who married Alexander Jaffray -

If you look at the Find A Grave link - I believe that the incorrect John Erskine (Earl of Mar) i.e my 9th great grandfather has been assigned as her father -

However the profile manager of the memorial has declined my suggestion that her father was John Erskine of Balhalgardy and Pittodrie i.e my 6th cousin 11x removed

My understanding is that she is from the Erskine House of Pittodrie, a cadet branch of the Erskine House of Dun.   

Although the Erskine House of Dun were intimately connected to the Erskine Earl of Mar, there are no sources to support that she was the daughter of John Douglas Erskine Earl of Mar.

It would appear that many members on Ancestry have replicated other trees and used that as their only source.

Thorough research indicates that Magdalen Erskine of Pittodrie is the daughter of John Erskine of Balhalgardy & Pittodrie - descendants of Thomas Erskine of Haltoun & Brechin and John Erskine of the Erskine House of Dun.

In my records I have Sir John Douglas Erskine (1556-1634) and Lady Marie Stewart (1576-1644) as the parents of Magdelen.

And yet all available sources point in the direction that she was "of Pittodrie" a cadet branch of the Erskine House of Dun.

I cannot find any sources that state otherwise.
