Can you help identify which Union Army regiment this soldier served in?

In attempting to identify federal census records for Private John Snowden (reported MIA and presumed KIA 18 July 1863) of the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, I've run across an interesting mystery. If you are interested in the US Civil War and US Black history, maybe you can help! The Find a Grave memorial notes that another John Snowden whose Pennsylvania death certificate confirms that he is Black served in the Union Army. I've noted the 1890 US Veterans Schedules where a John Snowden appears, but haven't had a chance to confirm if some of the regiments enlisted men of color during the US Civil War. I don't have access to Fold3 to see if they might have additional information. Thank you for any additional sourced research you can provide!

He served in Company H, 2nd US Colored Infantry. The pension index on Ancestry confirms his widow was Rosie; the pension index on Fold3 confirms the death date of 1 September 1920 in Germantown, Pennsylvania.

Fantastic! Thank you so much.
p.s. Did it confirm his rank per chance? Fingers crossed!
From his Compiled Military Service Record:

He enlisted 9 Sept 1863. Was appointed Sergeant on 20 October 1863. Reduced to Private on 19 December 1863. Promoted to Corporal on 1 January 1865.
Thank you so much!
