Richard Waring-284 would not at this stage meet the Magna Carta Project criteria for adding Gateways not listed by Douglas Richardson. The policy on this is set out here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Magna_Carta_Project_Policy_and_Procedures#Non-Richardson_Gateway_Ancestors
Basically we need firm primary sources for every parent-child link in the chain from the possible Gateway to someone in a Magna Carta trail already recognised by the Project. We ask anyone who wishes us to consider adding a Gateway to supply this information, in a worked-up form, on profiles in the possible trail.
In Richard Waring's case, I don't know the details of the possible line of descent, but
- While there is a strong probability, from circumstantial evidence, of who his parents were, no absolutely firm primary source is yet apparent, so we would regard the proof of parentage as insufficient
- Evidence for who his probable mother’s parents were currently relies on Visitations. Visitations have many errors and are again insufficient evidence
- Evidence for the parents of his probable paternal grandfather Thomas Waring-313 currently consists of a Visitation and Boyd's Inhabitants of London - neither is a sufficiently firm source for the Project
There may well be similar issues further back in time.
I am sorry if this disappoints. The Project leadership will be very willing to look at Richard Waring if firm primary sourcing is given for all the parent-child relationships.
