I would like to know how many profiles can be managed by one person and how to find out how many one has in their name?

Thank you,

Aline B.

You can find out your own numbers by looking at your watchlist, second from the bottom of the 'my wikitree' menu.  I believe it can hold up to 5K people.

There are just certain things that may not work at over 5K, like the Bulk Trusted List changes tool. In other words, 5K is not a hard limit.
I think, if you have too many profiles, you lose some; and it seems to be the one you want to keep.

I have let go of a lot of profiles, some have been adopted, some not.  I hate to see those unattended, I want to re-adopt the ones that didn't get a manager, but I have noticed that in doing so, I find some profiles I have lost again (either unattended or taken by someone).

I am going through my list (files) now, I think I will just adopt any that has not been claimed and see what happens.

Thank you for all your answers, it is very helpful.
I'm not aware that there's any "losing" of profiles if you manage over 5000.  Wikitree recommends against watchlists over 5000 because, as Eric noted, certain tools like the bulk Trusted List actions, won't work.  Unless there's been a recent change, you shouldn't lose any profiles.

This is a double-edge sword question. The number of profiles a person has on their watch list and the number of profiles a person can manage are two totally different numbers.

I have been a member of WikiTree for a couple of years and have several hundred people on my watch list.  I have yet been able to get all of their family members added, with complete sources, including picture the way I want them to be. But then again - I am OCD.
