We need a Category A Thon for existing profiles

Question

I just read through the tiny list of Featured Musicians and the list of Rock Musicians.  I see many missing names, like Paul McCartney, Christine McVie, and others.  I also don't see in the other Featured Connections sub headers page.  Like only 2 Latin American Notables???  Really??

Maybe for the holidays we could take some time to go through all of the existing WikiTree to make sure profiles, especially notable people profiles are categorized.  What's the point of a database if the checkboxes aren't used?

Just a thought.

Not to mention there are many, many sources for Find a Grave on our profiles, but not all of them have a cemetery category tagged. This is why Aleš created a report which includes such profiles. The Featured Connections are always limited in number.  I think only 11 at a time can be chosen (the ones that appear at the foot of the page).  WikiTree members get a chance to suggest their favourites.  See the G2G questions from Abby entitled something like "Help us find and improve next week's Connection Finder profiles..."

That doesn't explain how there are 249 Olympians, 185 rock musicians (missing 2 Beatles) and 2 Latin notables?  Really - TWO??  Look through the category list on that Feature Connections, other page.  You will see.

I am sure there is already a way to call these categories up to see your connections, but it is not obvious to me so I have to believe there are others with my same problem.

Categorisation is somewhat haphazard.  Not every PM likes categories, and it is not mandatory to put them on each and every profile.  Sometimes a person has so many categories, one will get missed. :)

The featured connections are also - adding to what Ros said - only the featured profiles of the last six months. Six month after a profile was featured it is taken out of that list.
