Who is Mary Elizabeth?

My relative's 1959 obituary mentions that she was a member of the "Mary Elizabeth Society" at the Friends' (Quaker) Church in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  Does this refer to philanthropist Mary Elizabeth Garret?  Women's rights activist Mary Elizabeth Pidgeon?  Or someone else entirely?  Can anyone help?
