Help with Czech translation / records

I found my great grand mother in a 1880 Czech census with her family!

I thought her surname was Kovanva ( based on her USA records) but it looks like it might actually be Kovanda. Can you take a look.

https://www.portafontium.eu/iipimage/34430352/soap-kt_01159_census-1880-planice-cp170_0010?x=-3&y=193&w=427&h=162

Her name is Anna and her father is Petr and mother is Teresa.

In the actual census record the surname does look like it has a "v" but the individual records on the left of the page ( not sure what they are) it is clearly a "d" in the name because "listopada" is November and the "d" in listopada is exactly like the "d" in Kovanda. Any help with the census column headings greatly appreciated.

I also have a clip of a birth record for her brother. Please help with the mother's full name and details.

edit to add

It appears Petr had 2 wives, Teresa and Katering??

Should I use the surname Kovanda or the one on her birth record - Kovandova?

The surname is definitely Kovanda in these two records. Here's a translation of the headings:

I. Number of person

II. Name

III. Gender

IV. Birthdate

V. Birthplace

VI. Jurisdiction

VII. Religion

VIII. Condition

IX. Language

X. Profession

XI. Industry

XII. whether in agriculture or business (Petr was in agriculture)

XIII. Whether literate (Petr was)

XIV. Whether blind, deaf, insane or "dumb" (none of the above)

XV. Residing permanently or temporarily (perm)

XVI. Whether absent (not sure if this is referring specifically to when the census was enumerated, or if it's referring to periodic absence- Anna is marked as absent).

XVII. Location where absent to (Anna was in Obytce).

Yes, Petr is listed with Terezie in the census. On the brother, Petr Matěj's birth record, the mother is Katerina Fremundová, daughter of Václav Fremund of Plánice & Majdalena, who was daughter of Ondřej Žemlička & Katerina Flosman, also of Plánice. Petr is the son of Jakub Kovanda from Bolešiny & Anna, daughter of Josef Kurce & Marie Hanzlíková from Bystré.

Thomas, your help is greatly appreciated. This branch of my tree has been bare too long! Thanks
Glad I could help! The Czech side of my family was completely bare until a couple years ago, so I can relate. Over the last two years, though, with a little guidance, I've been working to tackle it, & learning the language, which has been a very rewarding project.

If there's anything more we can help with, don't hesitate to ask!
I was surprised to find I had Czech roots. Noone in our family new about Anna and my sister still doesn't believe me ! Can you tell me what is written in the last 2 boxes of Anna Kovandova's birth record.

Is her middle name Zlenka?

Once again, greatly appreciated!

Last two boxes? First is listing the witnesses/godparents, Anna & Mateus, whose surnames are a little difficult to make out, but I could try to decipher in a little bit. Last one is, I believe, the person recording the info (not sure of the exact translation of the header, but it's consistent on the page, so likely a registrar), Antonie Lukšová.

As for the middle name, it's Zdeňka.

Excellent work.

It is fun to find records, isn't it? You may have already found the following records, but if not, here goes.

It looks like Anna's mother was Katerina (Fremundova) Kovanda:

Also, Katerina appears to have died in July 1867:

I couldn't find my great grand mother Anna's birth record. Thanks for tracking it down and also the death record of her mother.
