The KINGs of Great Yarmouth

In attempting to find the origins of Henry Clarence KING https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/King-54271 I have come across his father at William Teasdale KING https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/King-25356.

William Teasdale KING is, however, married to the wrong woman (Martha Postle). From the newspaper article at http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article207931570 I have clear indication that William Teasdale KING, son of William KING and Elizabeth Larn TEASDALE, dies in South Australia in 1897 - not 1913 Great Yarmouth. His wife is Susannah LAVINGTON - not Martha Postle.

In an attempt to sort it out, I tried going to the corresponding FamilySearch profiles only to find the families of least two William KINGs smashed together in a complete mess.

HELP! Are there any experts in the KINGs of Great Yarmouth that can sort this out?

No expert of the King family, but it does seem very obvious that Martha is wrong.

The William King who married (Nov 19 1864) Martha Parcel was a labourer and his father William was a malster

I started a free space page which I'm happy to hand over to you and you might find easier for research notes. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:William_King_Research

You could also use it to investigate the other William Kings to rule them out. It's a tough one. Probably finding his emigration would be a help.

Thanks Gill, much appreciated. It's getting towards midnight here, so I'll take a look at the page tomorrow.

I agree, though, Martha is wrong. The William King in South Australia seems to have been associated with shipping.

Thanks again, Chris.
We have the profile manager of William Teasdale King on the case also, and she has reached the same conclusion - that Martha married a different William King.

Thanks to all for helping.
