Guillaume Bense or Banse sold a property in 1649, have found the original contract. In it are listed the other parties to the sale, who were Jean Brossier and his wife Marguerite Banse, also Philippe Banse. I have done a partial transcription of the record on Guillaume's profile.
There is some question as to whether Guillaume is Marguerite's brother or her father. From the act so far, it relates to a sale of land, and is shared out as a succession of the late Jeanne Jérôme. Who is either Guillaume's first wife or his mother, that remains to be proven.
Guillaume gets half, Jean and his wife get a quarter, and Philippe gets the last quarter. Is this indicative of the surviving spouse getting half and the children getting a quarter each in the succession?
Some words I wasn't able to make out in the record, if someone with good eyes and a good knowledge of handwriting of the era could help with this, would be very kind.
Guillaume and his new wife left here shortly after this sale, Marguerite and her husband left after 1656, so they will most likely be found in France thereafter.
