Hi, Cortland --

It sounds like what you're looking for is the Surname Index page. For example, https://www.wikitree.com/indexes/person/A/index.html brings up all the A names along with a menu to jump to a specific letter.

You can also get there using this URL: http://www.wikitree.com/genealogy

I understand that the One Name Studies participants like to use this index to easily find name variations to work on.

It's under 'My WikiTree'

No. That is not it. That shows your personal surnames. It used to be under the "find" tab below under "Social Media". You could click on it all Surnames would come and you would type in the name you were looking for. Then type in the first name and it eliminated a lot of profiles. It made searching so much easier. Now it is gone.
Okay, I think I got it, under Find, it now says Search, just above Social Media that takes you to the Search for People, Surnames, Matches and Text,
Thanks for that M Ross. That does work but it is about two extra steps.
You can also use the search box at the top of any WT page including profile pages.

The lower part of the search box says name on watchlist

The upper part of it you can put any name in it to search, if its a profile page just remove the last name of the person on the profile from the search box, put in whoever you are looking for and click on the magnifying glass search icon.
Thanks man. I don't think I ever realized that was there.
Following...I was about to ask the same question....

Also under the My Wikitree drop down menu, click on Tops. This may be what you are looking for and it's a recent change.

It is a very recent change I looked for it this morning and it took a while for me to realise it has a new name.

What's the name?

You're right Cortland, it has disappeared and I'm sure I used it yesterday.

John and Cortland, you are correct. Sorry for the confusion. As M. Ross said, it was never the most efficient way to find a surname, but I realize that a lot of people won't know that.
