I wish I could make the picture work but John Putnam of Salem was mentioned in Burkes General Armory in 1845. So I really really question Andrew Moriarty and works based of his.

Burke's is not a reliable source. There is no evidence to suggest that John Putnam of Salem was armigerous (he described himself as "husbandman" and "yeoman", not "gentleman" or "esquire").
