Love this photo because of the Knights of Pythias uniform!

Alonzo McDonald, son of Richard McDonald and Sarah Maria McClain McDonald. Alonzo was born 19 Jan 1854 in New York City and died 9 March 1924 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, Kentucky. He married late in life and had no children that I know of.

Wonderful Family Treasure ! .. Thank you for your share .. I think that is his dress uniform circa [pre] Spanish American War era .. C'est Bon ..

P.S. There appears to be a "Shepard's Crook" insignia that would indicate a chaplain's status.

Really a great historic family photo! He has a interesting uniform. U.S. Civil War? Although he would be very young. I would enjoy hearing about his military service
