New member introducing myself

Hello,

I'd like to introduce myself. Firstly, this website is really great, easy to find family.

The family history I am interested in is through my father Alexander Henry Tidman Ambrose born 30 Jan 1923 and through his mother's line, Bessie/Betsy Mendes. I have traced her line back to 1737 to Sara Machorro born in Belmonto in Portugal. I am wanting to find out more information about each person, why did they leave Portugal, go to the Netherlands and then onto the UK. I can guess but if anyone has any information about this family lineage I will be appreciative!

You may want to consider joining one (or more) One Name Studies to focus on your areas of interest such as Surnames or locations. You can explore this further by clicking on Tags found at the top of the page.

Please do return to the profiles you have created to add biographical details and sources. To research your family, use the Roots search tool found on the right side of any profile or use the Wikitree ID drop down menu and choose Research. Log in with your Wikitree ID and password then add the profile ID and choose a database. I suggest starting with FamilySearch. When you find a correct source, copy and paste the citation given and add the information found.
