Global Family Reunion-Yorkshire Connections

Question

Hi has anyone from Yorkshire been connected to the Big Tree, the majority of my family/ancestors are from the West (especially Leeds) and North Ridings and I am looking to connect them.

I think I have 138 direct ancestors, (I am not the best at Maths so that number is probably wrong), most from Yorkshire, and a few from Derbyshire and Ireland, although not all have sources at the moment,( working on it).

If you have people from these regions, lets try to connect them.

My father's side of the family is from Yorkshire, surname Thackwray.  Winksley, Aldfield, Leeds, Huddersfield, Whitby to name a few locations.

How does one go about connecting to the tree?

It took me ages to connect the big tree, I eventually did through a family in a different county whose cousins/niece and nephews moved to America. Not many people in Yorkshire are on wikitree it seems so if you can't find anyone with similar surnames from similar areas on wikitree, you'll have to try and find someone who moved to America, as they are more likely to be on here

Hi Alecia,

If you take a look at the Raper surname page, Fred Adamson manages the profiles for a bunch of Rapers from Yorkshire, and they are connected to the worldwide tree. You should get in contact with him to see if there is a connection between that family and yours.

My West Yorkshire ancestors are connected to the tree. However, they're only connected through me (I have not managed to connect them to other Yorkshire families so far.)

They are Herbert Jackson (b. 1883 in Kirkheaton) and his ancestors, and Janet Aspinall (b. 1894 in Northowram) and her ancestors.
