I would be interested in joining the Scotland project. I have a ton of Scottish surnames in my tree, including Carmichael, Elliott, Farquharson, Buchanan, McDowell, Leslie, McMillan, Campbell, Wauchope, Cash, and many others. The various DNA testing I have done gives me a great big chunk of Scottish DNA. A few of The lines have been traced back to Scotland, but I have quite a few brick walls, most of which are in South Carolina. The majority of my Scottish ancestry is on my father's side, through Henry County, Georgia. Deeper in my tree my ancestry goes back to the Stewart and Bruce/Brus families. In the past I have been a member of both the Carmichael and Elliot clan associations. I joined the Sons of the American Revolution years ago using George Elliott, Jr. originally of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, died Morgan County, Georgia. I also have a father and son, both Joseph Carmichaels, Who fought for the British in South Carolina during the Revolutionary War. I've been working on my Carmichael line for almost 50 years, but I'm still up against a brick wall. I definitely want to learn more about researching actual Scottish records that have become available online. Part of the problem with my brick walls is that many of my Scottish families have been in the United States for over 300 years.
