Do you have Scottish Ancestors or an interest in Scotland? Come Join Us in the Scotland Project [closed]

The Scotland Project is hard at work improving profiles for our Scottish ancestors and we would love you to join us!  The Project covers all things Scottish, so no matter what your interests are, there's a team waiting for you!

You'll begin with a journey down our new Tartan Trail (you can learn more about it here) where you'll not only improve and/or learn new skills, but will also meet new people and learn to work within an active, collaborative WikiTree community.  Once you've completed the Tartan Trail, you'll be invited to join other teams within the project that interest you.

Membership Information

If you are new to WikiTree and have not become a full member you will need to upgrade to Wiki Genealogist Level. Sign our Honor Code to receive your Wiki Genealogist badge, which is a necessity for editing profiles. Full details can also be found on the Scotland Project home page. This will also give you a time line of what to expect from the Tartan Trail.

To start your journey, post an ANSWER below!

Don't forget to add the tag "Scotland" to your profile page

If you leave a *comment* here instead of an *answer,* your comments will be read and then removed. This thread is only for joining the project, and all other questions should be started on a separate G2G post.

Again, please be certain to *answer* above, not *comment.*

I would be very interested in any details that you might have about the departure from Leith as my ancestors are from there and were mariners.

Hi Terrance,
That's very interesting.
We descend from Alison Napier, whose father, Peter Napier of Kilmahew was killed at the battle of Glen Fruin in 1603.
Presumably we may share a common ancestry.
Lucy
Hi Lucy, I am very interested in your Alison Napier, since she shows up in a McCausland will from the early 17th century.  I am trying to work out the various relationships between the people in this will, who include Napiers, McCauslands, and Colquhouns.  Please message me, I would love to exchange information.
