Help Reading Estate Papers for W J Frizzell

So I was reading through the Estate Papers for W. J. Frizzell, and came across this page of which I've captured a snippet from relating to the guardianship order from the court.

Can anyone interpret the names of the children and of the guardian? Here's what I believe I'm seeing:

Jam (presumably "James"), Alfred M (presumably Alfred Martin), F.M or T.M, Charles M. and Maria Frizzell infant.

For the Guardian, I think that's Jam or Jon Shutt.

Let me know if you're seeing something different, or if I'm close. Thanks!

The guardian's last name might be Shute. The last letter looks more like an 'e' in both spellings. To my old eyes, anyways.

I would agree. There are a couple of extra papers in the main link that mention his name again, and it's tough to tell if those last two characters are "T", "E", or even "L". I'll have to try several variants to see if someone in the general vicinity of Butler County shows up on a Census around that time. The unfortunate timing of this happening around 1880, potentially right after the Census, and no entries until 1900 means that the youngest children could have had their last names changed by their foster/adopters or even the young girl may have married, so it can get a bit challenging, but at least I have clue to follow. Thanks!

I read it as:

It is ordered by the Court that W. H. Shute [be and?] he is hereby appointed as Guardian for J.M Alfred M, F.M. Charles M. and Maria Frazele infant heirs of     Frazele dec'd whereupon he came into Court, duly sworn and executed his bond as Such Guardian with J.M. Shute as his surety Conditioned (?) as required by law, which bond was accepted by the Court.

I'd love to go back in time and teach some of these individuals to be more careful with their handwriting, as each person sees something new. Thanks for that translation. Sometimes it helps to step back and let someone else take a turn as new details emerge. Thanks for this. I'll take another swing at trying to find the guardian and if I'm lucky, the children, and maybe some additional cousins might emerge from this.

Blowing it up, looks like the guardian is M. H. Shute.  But then again, that M could be a W.

Looking at the M in March and all the others, I think the infant children are J. M., Alfred M, M. Charles M and Maria Harzele- that last one very uncertain- and looking below that, it is the same way it is written infant children of Frazele deceased.

Good luck, Rick

I think it might also be N. H. Shute/Shutt. Unfortunately, all the "Shutt's" I could find were around Muhlenberg and not Butler. I'll give Shute a try.

That's Shute. Look at how the first word on the page, "State", is written. Also, it's W. not M, by comparing to "McLean". Keep in mind also that this is 1886 and spelling is a bit fluid.

This is what I get:

State of Kentucky

McLean County Court

Special term March 3rd 1886

It is ordered by the court that W.H. Shute be <?> he is hereby appointed as Guardian for J.M, Athia M., F.M, Charles M. and Maria Frazele infant heirs of ____ Frazele dec'd [deceased] <?> he came into court, duly sworn and executed his bond as Such Guardian with J.M. Shute as his surety <conditioned?> as required by law which bond was accepted by the court.

A copy Attest

<?> Clerk <?>

I think the third line from bottom should read "Auditioned as required..." Also I think "bond" might be "bona" which is a legal term which in this context may pertain to taking upon financial responsibilities for the minor free from unscrupulous intent.  Lastly, on line six I think is a misspelling of "Sole Guardian" "Suel Guardian".

Dear Cousins,

The best I can make out is likely: James, Alfred M., J. M., Charles M., and Maria Frizell. I hope this can help a little.
