I think finding proof of this Scottish connection is impossible.
This old family tale is typical of the stories so many Swedish noble families invented back then. They were newly ennobled, and wanted to give an impression they had old noble ancestry. 

The suggested birth year 1601, based on the family tale, "came to Sweden 14 years old in 1615", does not add up well with his first son Jöns born 1616. (Szabad 2008 and Örnberg 1884) 

Szabad (2008) and Örnberg (1884) have "ca 1580"/"1580s" as birth year for Anders Hansson. I think we should go with that.

Szabad (2008) and Örnberg (1884) have a lot of descendants to Anders Hansson that is not listed in Elgenstierna/Adelsvapen.

Comments

-I added sources: Szabad (2008) and Örnberg (1884) to the profile. They are the best sources we have on Anders Hansson's birth date: ca 1580. 

-I changed the birth date to "after 1580" on the profile. This date fits better with Anders's oldest son Jöns being born already 1616. Source for Jöns's birth year: Szabad (2008) and Örnberg (1884).

-I got warnings that this sourced birth date for Anders, after 1580, does not fit well with the estimated birth years of the proposed parents, Angus MacDonald and Katherine Campbell. Those estimated birth years are based partly on the Swedish family tale, they should instead be based on Scottish sources only. Also their marriage in 1592 does not fit. Which tells us the family tale does not fit well with reality.
